Advanced Practice Collective

Different professions. Shared advanced practice.

You bring the experience. Together, we can shape what comes next.

Advanced practice grows through shared knowledge, fresh perspectives and the experience of people doing the work. Advanced Practice Collective is a developing space for practitioners across nursing, midwifery, pharmacy, allied health professions and healthcare science to connect, learn and contribute.

We’re starting with a simple question: what would make this website useful to you? Your ideas will help shape the articles, personal experiences and carefully selected resources we share—from developing a portfolio to leading change, supporting learning and putting evidence into practice.

Our aim

To connect and support advanced practitioners across the UK, sharing knowledge, experience and diverse professional perspectives to strengthen practice, professional development and patient care.

Four pillars. A shared foundation.

Advanced practice brings together four connected pillars. They describe how practitioners contribute through direct care, leadership, education and research—not simply a collection of clinical tasks.

Clinical practice

Using advanced knowledge, clinical reasoning and professional judgement to assess and manage complex situations, within an agreed scope of practice.

Leadership and management

Improving services, supporting teams and helping shape safe, effective and person-centred care.

Education and learning

Developing ourselves and others through teaching, supervision, feedback and shared learning.

Research and evidence

Critically reviewing evidence, contributing to research and evaluating practice to improve care.

Different professions bring distinct expertise. Collaboration across these pillars creates opportunities to learn from one another while respecting each practitioner’s professional responsibilities and scope of practice.

Have your say: help shape the Collective

What would bring you back to this website? Practical articles, honest accounts of professional journeys, portfolio support, research discussions—or links to teaching resources you can trust?

Help us decide where to start by completing our short website development questionnaire. Your responses will guide what we build next, so the Collective grows around the needs and interests of its readers.

The questionnaire will remain open for six months from launch while this new website reaches practitioners and gathers views. Thank you for your patience as the Collective develops—and for helping shape what comes next.
